Natural Born Hunter

Mason blew me away the other night. We got his bow out to do a little shooting. It was only his 3rd time shooting it and other than a few pointers from me he's pretty much learned on his own. He was continually nailing the target and I was so impressed I had to go get the video camera. The draw length on the bow is as short as we could find on a compound bow.

Look out rascally rabbits.

Needless to say, I am a proud Dad!

Caleb is also starting to practice but his is a play bow since they don't make them any smaller than the one we got Mason. He is proud of his bow though because he can shoot his inside.

My Sweet Boys!!!

So, lately my boys have been cracking me up. I love being their mom. A couple of weeks ago, me, Matt, Mason and Caleb were sitting in the kitchen. I thought I heard Cody waking up from his nap so I said "Hey everybody be quite for a second." It is silent in the kitchen until you hear Mason do this little "do-do-do-doot" Matt looks at him with a stern expression for a minute and then he just busts up laughing because how do you get after your little boy for doing exactly what you would have done as a little boy (or big boy). It was so funny - I could totally see Matt doing the same thing. It's not really something you teach - it was almost genetic-if that makes sense-anyway had us all laughing pretty good.

Then about a week ago I come into the bedroom to see Matt looking at the comforter on our bed with a worried look on his face. I asked what was wrong and he points to some white stuff on the bed and says "What is that?" I started laughing because all of a sudden it made sense why I had thought the upstairs of our house had smelled like baby powder all day. Caleb had lovingly sprinkled baby powder on our bed. We pulled back the sheets to see more baby powder sprinkled on the bed a little on each side, and I was lucky enough to have water added with mine. He had also put some on each of our nightstands. He really hadn't put a lot anywhere, just a little bit sprinkled here and there. Then Matt says Masons bed had smelled like it too and I had thought Cody's room had smelled like it too. I tell ya we went to bed laughing, surely the luckiest parents in the world to be going to bed smelling like baby powder sprinkled lovingly by our cute boy. When we asked him about it the next morning he was so happy that he had done that for everyone and told me how he had even put water with mine too. Could have been a lot worse!!!

Bedtime!!

Dad and his boys at bedtime.
The boys love to have Matt read to them. Mason likes Dad to read the books serious (exactly the way they are written ) and Caleb likes Dad to read them silly, with words like marshmallows, hot dogs, and flying mustard. Dad is very good at reading the books silly, he often ends up reading the same book twice, once serious and once silly.

This is Cody with his dog slush - a dog he loves so much I thought I had better buy another one in case something happen to the first one - you can see how excited he is to have two slushes.
